RRD:Recently Obama cited a bizarre poll by Gallup which purports to show that 80% of the populace(including most Republicans) support tax increases. Not only does the poll fly in the face both of past polling and everything we know about Republicans as a group(it was as if Gallup suddenly came out with a poll showing that most republicans had more faith in Obama's judgement than the GOP),it also contradicts a recent Rasmussen poll. While Rasmussen's polls tend to lean Republican,in this case they are likely to be much more accurate(at least about Republican views on the debt ceiling) than Gallup.
The only two explanations that I can think of to explain this discrepancy are:1.Gallup faked the results.2.Gallup grossly undersampled conservative republicans(perhaps they are less likely to participate in a poll).
