RRD:Michelle Minton argues that the problem is not that Michelle Obama is a hypocrite(since the standard she advocates permits the consumption of "junk food" in moderation),but a elitist and a dilettante;since the policies she advocates hurt the poor she professes to help.But I believe Michelle Obama is actually all three. The fundamental premise underlying the regulatory state is that the poor,stupid masses are not intelligent enough,or wise enough,or rational enough to think for themselves,but some "elite" group of governmental overlords are somehow exempt from these flaws and can thereby control not only themselves, but others.Of course this argument is hypocritical in another way as well:they believe that masses should be able to appoint their rulers,though not to control their own lives.At least that is what they claim to believe;for now.
