RRD: If they had real automatic weapons .i.e. select-fire weapons than they almost certainly had them illegally since all legal fully automatic weapons are class 3 weapons & are subject to rigorous controls. There are roughly 175,000 class three permit holders in the U.S. and so far as I know the number of crimes committed with their weapons are zero. Nor is it true that semi-automatic weapons can be readily converted to fully automatic weapons ,the ATF has been fanatical about that . The weapons that Michelle Obama is probably referring to are semi-automatic weapons. Either she does not know the difference or the conflating of the two serves her purposes.
Note that Michelle Obama says that the girl was killed because ”some kids had some automatic weapons they didn’t need ” when in fact the girl is dead because some hoodlums murdered her.
Note that there is no anger at ”the kids” that is at the murderers.
How could there be? In her world no one other than smokers,Conservatives or innocent gun owners bear any responsibility for
their actions.
No there is no anger the murderers. Just at the ”automatic weapons”. (presumably had the girl been stabbed to death that would not have merited a ”national conversation”). So the murderers are ”kids” & the millions of innocent people who refuse to sacrifice their constitutional rights are the villains.
Such is our insane world.
