The idiotic "above the law" critique against Google re: Protect IP #censorship bill fka #coica #freeweb

..."Is Eric Schmidt really suggesting that if Congress passes a law and President Obama signs it, Google wouldn’t follow it? As an American company respected around the world, it’s unfortunate that, at least according to its executive chairman’s comments, Google seems to think it’s above America’s laws."....

RRD:How can mere mortals stand against such genius?Following this line of reasoning, everyone from James Madison and Thomas Jefferson(challenging the constitutionality of the Alien & Sedition act), to Korematsu(Japanese American Internment),to the entire Civil Rights Movement, should be denounced for their hubris in thinking that they are "above the law".In reality this Congress & this President(and past ones of course) have repeatedly acted as if their whims were the first and last legal word on a subject.Under this administration,(which made a campaign issue of upholding civil liberties) we have seen the bizarre spectacle of four year olds being groped to see if they are terrorists. To act as if something is constitutional simply because President Obama & the Congress(or any President, and any Congress) passes it,is the height of absurdity.
