Today in a follow up post ,Mr.Ibrahim revealed that he has been accused by Electronic Intifada of promoting a "Islamophobic Hoax".As I note EI's outrage over this is quite amusing.Normally people object when they are accused of being more depraved than they are.There was a actual hoax (which I unintentionally helped to circulate and then corrected) that Hamas was staging child marriages.
Given that there are verifiable cases of Islamists promoting child marriage, & pointing to Muhammad's marriage to Aisha,(when she was 9) as a justification for this practice,I found the story horrifying but credible.(fn1) It wasn't credible.
I corrected the story for the sake of fidelity to the truth, not concern that I was "slandering" that murderous gang.
But this takes the cake.
It is one thing for Murderers to object at being characterized as being pedophiles.
It is quite another to be outraged that suicide bombers are being accused of having consensual homosexual sex.

Let us assume for the sake of argument that the story is a complete fabrication,then it would merit a correction,not outrage that "Islamophobia" is being promoted.Does Electronic Intifada have any idea how many Muslims believe in the blood libel against the Jews?Is Electronic Intifada as incensed over that?If this were a hoax its target would be SUICIDE BOMBERS and the "injustice" would be accusing them of having consensual sex with other consenting adults.It is as if a German claimed that it was a slander on the german people to suggest that the Nazis practiced homosexuality. Oh,and yes I do oppose child marriages in the west,and yes I know of the ”Delaware rationalization”,& Medieval child marriages,and that the age of consent was twelve in the Victorian era,& of the pedophile brothels of Japan blah blah blah.Two wrongs equal two wrongs,evil in one hemisphere cannot justify evil in another hemisphere.Sorry about that pedophiles,you see I know that child molesters promote that garbage e.g."why in Japan there were four year olds in brothels”....”age of consent is a western construct”....”age is just a number”...,& had their hearts set on molesting children & breaking down our ”repressed” culture.
And our ”cultural norms”.
